absolutely amazing experience! we randomly stopped by and were impressed. food was amazing, staff was Very attentive and accommodating . I also wanted to mention that this place makes their own meats -smoked, sausages etc - highly recommend to order, the quality is superb and prices are reasonable.

Golden Boar is a Ukrainian restaurant in the Huntingdon Valley Marketplace shopping center. From the outside, it may look like a regular strip mall restaurant. But inside is something really special. In my experience, it isn't very easy to find Ukrainian restaurants in the U.S. (certainly several in New York), and so I was thrilled to find Golden Boar. And it lived up to all my hopes and expectations. First of all - strip mall from the front, but it's all charm and coziness inside. The decor includes lots of photographs and beautiful table coverings - but the highlight of the interior is their play on the Ukrainian Pich (stove). What looks like a beautiful, traditional Pich is an opening and passthrough to the kitchen. It adds such charm and character to the space. But onto the food. I happen to love Ukrainian food, so we were excited and hungry and knew we would order too much food and have leftovers for later. We ordered and shared: Yushka (a porcini mushroom broth served with mushroom dumplings and a huge chicken meatball) with a garlic bun on the side on the recommendation of our server; Huliash (stewed beef with potato dumplings, and prunes); herring (with egg salad, boiled beet, and onions); and potato and cheese varenyky with cracklings). I would order and eat every bite again. And I wish I'd had more room to finish our plates and order a dessert! (Looking back, we should have brought friends with us just so we could order and share more of the menu)! The staff are friendly, and the service was wonderful and fast. Just a really wonderful meal that I'd be happy to repeat in the future! I think it's really special.

Excellent complete meal at a reasonable price. The waiter was exceptional in recommending food. Delightful, family-friendly atmosphere. A bargain for lunch or dinner!

Had an overwhelming experience at the Golden Boar Restaurant in Huntingdon Valley. All the food was well prepare, and served.

Can't give it more than 5 stars unfortunately. Had an appointment a couple doors down and was early enough that we had time for dinner. Figured we'd just grab pizza from the place in the same strip mall. Looked in as we were driving by and too many kids. (Feeling old) so it was gonna be sushi. As we we're heading to the sushi place we saw the signs for this place. Hey! Let's give them a try. Nice sized place with a cozy atmosphere. Not rustic but trying. There were a few other diners but not real busy. The server dropped off menus and took our drink order. Unfortunately no liquor license but it is BYOB (I know for next time and there will be a next time!) Started off with cream cheese buns and found out one roll is more than enough for two hungry people. (Doggie bag!). The rolls are scrumptious. The cheese is absolutely delicious. You could make a meal of just the roll. My daughter got the borscht and I got the golubtsy Both were incredible. Her soup was so good she was on her phone telling her friends and scheduling a lunch with them. My golubtsy was one of the best I've ever eaten. Sheer perfection. This was a great little find and a real treat for both of us and we're already trying to schedule return trips. Great food. Great service. Great prices. A liquor license would make it perfect but it is byob and there is a beer and liquor store a couple doors down. Highly recommended.

I've eaten at Golden Boar twice in the last month and look forward to coming back. the food is delicious - reminds me of my grandmothers cooking. The staff is friendly and accommodating. Prices are very reasonable given the quality - everything is home made and it's BYOB!
